Who could forget this day two years ago? Our usually extroverted, bouncy prime minister cut a very sombre figure in our living rooms as he interrupted evening TV schedules to tell us that we all had to ‘stay at home’.
It was a moment most of us had never experienced in our usually freedom-filled lives. The nation was being locked down as covid ravaged the world. It meant no more family visits, essential trips to shops only and workplaces were deserted.

The sun was shining, it was an early Easter heatwave, and the novelty of being shut in our homes and gardens for a couple of weeks seemed exciting – a chance to get fit and finish off those DIY jobs you’d be putting off.
None of us ever thought that two years later we’d be counting the cost of losing loved ones, still living with the effects of coronavirus and struggling to get out of a lockdown that had affected so many of our lives.

But we are getting there, slowly. As I write this, the sun is shining and friends are gathering for after-work drinks, holidays, events and weddings are back in diaries and most importantly to us, workplaces are filling up again.
The social interaction of colleagues over the water or tea points had become such an important wellbeing part of our workplaces…it was only when we were locked down at home, often on our own, that we realised how much these social areas had played in our daily lives.
We’d taken these rather mundane locations in schools, offices and workplaces for granted until we no longer had them. Grabbing water from your kitchen or popping the kettle on at home had a very different feel. There were no colleagues to be seen, no one to discuss the latest office gossip with or bounce around work ideas. For many of us it felt very lonely for too long.

But things are – thankfully – changing now. Many are recognising the important social and wellbeing benefits that workplaces can offer, and it’s great to see offices filling up again.
If you’ve headed back into your workplace today, head over for a drink; see how it feels, have a chat, have a catch-up, cherish the things we took for granted before lockdown.
With colleagues returning to workplaces and the sun making an early appearance, we at Glastonbury Spring Water are gearing up for what we hope will be a welcomed post lockdown boost.
Whether you’re in a school, office, gym, shop, or even a building site, there are virtually no locations where we can’t bring you clean, fresh water every day, and we pride ourselves on quick deliveries, competitive rates, and tailoring our service to exactly what you want.
Let’s start to rekindle our love for the water and tea points once again, and not see them just as places to grab a quick drink, but somewhere that’s helping to improve the health and wellbeing, and social interaction of our colleagues.
Before the pandemic, we were being told everyday how important it was to regularly drink water to boost our health and immune system. That message is more important now than ever as we continue to fight off covid and keep our health in tip top condition.
Even if your workplace hasn’t had a waterpoint before, we offer free trials and site surveys so you can decide later whether it’s something for you.
We’re happy to discuss your needs regardless of where you are in the country, but our main focus is within South West England.
