Whilst the long, desiccant summer days now seem like an obscure memory, it highlights just how successful and memorable this year has been for us. With the weather reaching record highs since 1976, we have certainly been busy keeping everyone hydrated and replenished over the last twelve months. With that in mind, as the year draws to a close, it seems a good time to reflect and review all that we have achieved in 2018.
At the start of the year, after a lot of time and research into biodegradable solutions and renewable sources, we introduced Vegware products into our brand.
Vegware is a manufacturer and specialist in compostable food service packaging. Their plant-based catering disposables are made from renewable, lower carbon or recycled materials, and can all be commercially composted with food waste where accepted. On top of this they have recently launched their ‘Close the Loop’ service, collecting clients’ used waste for composting. This means the product can be traced from source through to compost, therefore giving the customer peace of mind that their waste has been properly recycled.
Our next project consisted of launching the Oasis Versafiller range. It is a convenient hands free bottle filler that works well in schools, gyms, hospitals and various clubs and businesses due to it’s practicality. It is hand activated and when combined with a wall mounted fountain, it provides a completely chilled solution, with both child and disabled access.
In June, we were very honoured yet shocked to have received the Mendip Business of the Year award, especially as we became finalists in the Family Business of the Year award also. This came as a huge surprise for us and we felt very privileged that all of our hard work had been recognised by local businesses and people.
In the early autumn, we introduced our new Glastonbury refillable aluminium water bottles. Both green in colour and in purpose, we felt that they visually captured our recyclable objective (and also conveniently complemented our water coolers). They hold just over half a litre in liquid and come with a handy carabiner – making the perfect bottle for almost every sport, activity and occasion.
Soon after, we brought in our new 750ml plastic refillable bottles – yet another pertinent option for high intensity sports and activities. Each bottle is made to fit a bike’s drinks cage, so with a pull up lid and durable design it makes them the perfect option for cycling, running and any gym workouts.
Finally, as we find ourselves well and truly in the midst of the festive period, we have introduced our new Christmas paper-cups to ensure our customers are able to get into the spirit of things. With their traditional aesthetic qualities and biodegradable materials, there’ll be no reason to feel guilty when drinking your favourite hot chocolate or mulled wine this winter!
On that note, we would like to thank everyone for supporting us this year and look forward to supplying you in the near future. We hope you all have a fantastic Christmas and an even better new year.
